Flashback to the draft on 6/22/87: "Seattle select Scott Pippen of Central Arkansas." Over the mixed murmurs of the crowd, the on air announcers proceed "he's 21 years old and, that's right folks, you probably have never heard of Scottie Pippen." Luckily for us, minutes later: "We're going to the podium for a special announcement." "The following trade has been consummated between Seattle and Chicago" and the rest is history.

Fast forward to the summer of 1994. Chicago had been dethroned for the first time in 3 years. MJ, while trying to master another sport, caught wind of Seattle's discussions to potentially send the Reign Man Shawn Kemp to Chicago for Scottie. He told fellow UNC alum George Karl that they would win the chip with Scottie. But alas, Karl got cold feet about sending fan favorite Kemp to Chicago, and pulled out.

Two years later, the two teams would meet in the finals. Chicago was coming off of the greatest season in history, but Seattle was young and hungry with a bright future. Sure enough, Chicago took care of business in 6 games, en route to first title of their second three-peat. Seattle would never sniff the finals again.

Unfortunately for Seattle, just after years scoring generational talent, packed up and moved to Oklahoma City (sidenote: 6 Clothing fully support the return of professional basketball in Seattle).

Forever linked in basketball lore, we bring you Super C.
