Story
Depending on who you ask, the Second City moniker was bestowed upon Chicago for one of two reasons. Some say that since for most of the 20th century, Chicago was the second largest city behind New York and therefore was the “Second City” of the United States. Others say that as a result of the Chicago Fire which essentially burned the entire city to the ground, Chicago was able to rebuild its city and created an infrastructure that is still in place today.
Whichever story you believe; we can all agree that Chicago is the true King.
